Must Watch: Priest Arrested for Alleged Drug Pushing Activities in Bacoor, Cavite

A parish priest was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Bacoor City, Cavite for alleged drug pushing activities in the city.



According to SPO1 Christian Rosales, the elements of the Bacoor City Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted n operation against Bishop Richard Alcantara alias "Perling" in Tagumpay Compound, Tabing Dagat Barangay Alima.



The arrested priest according to the PNP was included in the drugs watch list of the PNP as revealed by Bacoor City Police Chief Police Supt. Vicente Cabatigan. The authorities conducted surveillance operations for the past three months.

During the police operation, the priest allegedly sold a P200 worth of shabu, which leads to his immediate arrest, alongside one of his cohorts identified as alias "Nanding."

The Police operatives also recovered some suspected illegal drugs worth at least P3,400. The Cavite Police also noted that priest is not a member of the Roman Catholic Church, who is also a well-known peddler of shabu in their Barangay.



The alleged priest was ordained at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Imus, Cavite. He is a current member of the Sacred Order of St. Michael, and former member of the Catholic Church for England and Wales.
