DILG Provincial Director Dennis QuiƱones said the rebel returnees were awarded the financial grants through the department’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the Duterte administration.

QuiƱones said the former rebel beneficiaries were given immediate livelihood assistance worth P65,000 each to provide them with the necessary aid in their reintegration to the mainstream society where they belong.

Part of the financial aid distributed includes immediate assistance, livelihood assistance, and firearm remunerations.

The E-CLIP initiative of the national government seeks to contribute towards achieving the goal of permanent and peaceful closure of all armed conflicts with non-state armed groups.

It aims to facilitate the mainstreaming of former rebels as productive citizens and enhance capacities of local government units (LGUs) and national government agencies (NGAs) in the implementation and sustainability of CLIP.
