Mayor Ahong Chan of Lapu-Lapu City Helps Caterer After Being Scammed

Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Jonard "Ahong" Chan confirmed through his official social media account that he helped a caterer who was scammed by some individual after delivering the ordered food to the Office of the Mayor. 


According to Mayor Chan his office was surprised when somebody from a food catering business delivered some foods to his office which according to the caterer was ordered by the Office of the Mayor. 


The Lapu-Lapu City Mayor revealed that he felt pity on the food caterer who delivered the food package whose livelihood was put at risk even during the time of the pandemic. 

In order to help the caterer, Mayor Ahong Chan paid for the P6,710 worth of food plus an additional P200 for delivery charge. 

Aside from the food package delivered to the Office of the Mayor, the scammer was also able to get some electronic load from the caterer worth around P2,800. All in all the total money scammed by the still unidentified individual was around P9,710.00. 

Due to the huge implications of the said activities, the Lapu-Lapu City Mayor immediately called out the Chief of Police of Lapu-Lapu City and the CIDG to conduct an investigation with the said incident. 


Mayor Ahong Chan also called for his constituents to be vigilant on everything they transact. He also urged his constituents to report to his office if they happen to receive a call from the numbers being used by the scammers. He also reminded everyone that if they received calls for delivery they should confirm first with his Chief of Staff, Mr. Junard Abalos, and provided a phone number to be contacted.

As a Mayor of Lapu-Lapu City, Mayor Ahong reiterated that he will not tolerate the said illegal activities under his watch of the city and he will never stop until the culprits will be put behind bars. 

The said incident that happened in Lapu-Lapu City went viral on social media generating more than 7.3 reactions among netizens.

Karong adlawa kalit nga adunay miabot nga pagkaon sa akong opisina kay kuno akong giorder. Nakurat ako sa maong panghitabo kay dili ako ang miorder ug wala usab akoy gisugo nga mo-order sa maong mga pagkaon. Naluoy kaayo ko sa  caterer nga nailad intawn. Nanginabuhi ra intawn cya ug tinarong taliwala sa pandemia pero gi-scam hinuon siya sa mga wala puangod nga mangingilad. 

Sa akong kaluoy, ako na lang gibayran ang kantidad sa giorder nga pagkaon nga mikabat ug P6,710 (plus P200 delivery charge). Gawas niana, nagpaload pa gyud ang scammer sa mao gihapong negosyante ug eload sa kantidad nga P2800. Suma total, miabot sa P9710 ang kantidad nga na-scam. 

Sa akong kasuko, akong dayong gipatawag ang hepe sa atong kapulisan ug ang CIDG aron pagconduct ug investigation aron madakpan ug masilotan ang scammer. 


Makita sa ubos ang picture sa tulo kanumero nga gigamit sa scammer sa paghimo sa iyang order. Palihug, ug makadawat kamo ug tawag gikan sa maong mga numero, palihug ireport dayon sa atong kapulisan  o sa akong opisina.
