Former Governor and one of the country's most prominent politician who is so close to Pambansang Kamao, Sen. Manny Pacquiao, no other than Narvacan Mayor Luis Chavit Singson shared his frustration against the boxing icon during the last fight against a Cuban boxer.
According to Mayor Chavit Singson, this is the first time he was not present at the side of Manny Pacquiao during his recent defeat against former Olympian and world champion Yordenis Ugas.
In almost every boxing match of Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Chavit Singson was always present in every bout inside the boxing ring. Many sports enthusiasts even dubbed Singson as the adopted father of Pacquiao, who is always beside the boxing champion in his victory or defeat.
Singson even pacified the problems faced by Sen. Manny Pacquiao with his wife Jinkee Pacquiao due to some matters that can only be solved within the family.
In an exclusive interview with Bombo Radyo Philippines, Mayor Chavit Singson revealed that Pacquiao's fight against Ugas is the very first time that he was not on the side of Pacquiao because of the previous statement released by Pacquiao against Singson.
Chavit Singson could no longer control his emotions as he airs his frustrations against the world's only eight division in different weight categories champion. The issue involving Pacquiao and Singson was about the controversial tobacco taxes.
Mayor Chavit was quoted as saying "First time kong di nanood, dahil sa paglaglag n’ya sa akin na wala sa lugar. Sabi ko lang wala akong hinihingi kundi wag lang i-increase ang tax, dahil sobra na kasi baka masira ang industriya (ng tabako)" Singson stated.
The friend, confidante, mentor, adviser and father figure rolled into one for for Manny Pacquiao, Chavit Singson claimed that he was dropped like a hot potato by Pacquiao and felt used [Sinampolan ako] over the whole tobacco excise tax issue to enhance the senator's image ahead of an anticipated presidential run.
Singson stated that "Full support ako sa kanya noon, pero ngayong tinapon ako, alangan pagpilitan ko pa sarili ko," he said. "Sinakyan nya 'yung tinuro sa kanya .. ang tagal ng pinagsamahan [namin] tapos ganon lang ginawa sa akin, syempre masama rin ang loob ko."
