OFW Laments OWWA Experience in Bacolod Due (No Food, No Instruction, Nowhere to go)

A concerned Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from Bacolod City laments her experience during their arrival at Bacolod-Silay Airport upon arrival from Manila as part of the government's balik probinsya program initiated by OWWA.

According to Facebook user Krstyl Dejongoy, she really appreaciate the OWWA Assistance in Manila from her arrival in Manila until she got in NAIA for her flight back to her hometown in Bacolod City.

OWWA Manila provided the OFWs with free food, accommodation, transportation and plane fare but upon their arrival to her hometown in Negros Occidental, no one assisted them from OWWA.

Dejongoy narrated that they arrived at around 2:30 AM but as of 7 AM nobody from OWWA answered their query and nobody give them any instruction on what to do. They have no food, no instruction and nowhere to go.

One of the OFW even approached OWWA in Bacolod City but they just replied that they didn't expect the arrival of the OFWs and all the hotels no longer accept passengers for quarantine.

The concerned OFWs called out the attentions of the local government units of the Province of Negros Occidental as well as the Mayor of Bacolod City to help them facilitate their arrival.

In the comments section of the now viral post made by Dejongoy, the OFW confirmed that after a few hours she posted the incident on social media, the LGU's responded and they are now in good conditions.

ANO NA BACOLOD?!

First of all, I really appreciate OWWA assistance in Manila. From my arrival in Manila until I got in NAIA for my flight back to my hometown. Free food, accommodation, transportation, and plane fare.

But upon arrival to my hometown NO ONE assisted us from OWWA. We arrived 2:30am but up until now (time check 7am) NO FOOD, NO INSTRUCTIONS, NOWHERE TO GO. It feels like the airport is closed. Hahaha.

Asan yung OWWA? na andun sa isang sasakyan. Nagtatago? Jk, they were having deliberations daw. Like seriously? Wala man lang kumausap samin like update us what our status, what are we gonna do, etc.  Yun pa naman pinaka importante sa lahat yung dissemination of information. Para kaming tanga dito sa airport, wla kaming alam kung ano nang mangyayari samin.

One OFW approached them, you know what they said? "Honestly, we didn't expect your arrival sir and all hotels no longer accept passengers for quarantine".

Like seriously?!! WTF? You didn't expect us? We waited at NAIA from 1pm and we boarded 1am!!!! And you didn't expect us? OWWA said there's no coordination from OWWA Manila and that LGUs here in Bacolod also did not provide any help or assistance for OFW. So basically it's OWWA and now OWWA can no longer provide assistance for all OFW'S. They said they need help from LGUs but sadly LGUs didn't care.

We were awake from 7am yesterday. We expected that when we arrive all things are set (just like what OWWA-Manila did) and that we can finally have a rest from almost 18 hours long-wait at NAIA Terminal 2. But it was nightmare. Some of us were really exhausted, hungry, etc. Good thing, we help one another here. Nakakahiya naman kasi sa OWWA at LGUs.

I really don't want to post negative stuff. But I can't take this anymore and all of us are really exhausted.

If you can send my concern to our local government officials, Mayor and Governor, We, OFW'S will greatly appreciate it.
