Must Watch: P29 Million Salary for PhilHealth Consultant Expose During House Hearing

The House of Representaties uncovered one of the most chilling controversy under the Duterte administration after PhilHealth admitted that they paid more than P29 Million for their consultants each year during the 2018 and 2019 period.

During the House Hearing on PhilHealth controversy, one of the official of PhilHealth confirmed to the Congressmen when asked by Rep. Daniel Fernandez who questioned the controversial salary of the consultants working for the agency.

According to the documents presented by Congressman Dan Fernandez from Laguna's First District, the government health insurance agency paid at least P540,000 to PhilHealth's Treasury Department.

PhilHealth also paid consultants for the IE Management Department P880,000; for the Comptrollership Department P500,000 and the agency also paid P1 Million for the consultants working with PhilHealth's IT Management Department.

Rep. Fernandez asked PhilHealth about the details of the millions of pesos paid by the government to their consultants.

The P29 million paid by PhilHealth management to the consultants were indeed questionable according to the statement released by some government officials monitoring the event involving PhilHealth.

During the House Hearing, the representatives from PhilHealth admitted that the agency paid more than P29 million for consultancy work.

Despite the explanations made by PhilHealth regarding the hiring of consultants, one thing is clear according to Congressman Fernandez, consultants are not full-time workers and they are hired per services.
