Senior Supt. Eduardo Acierto has allegedly maintained connections with "various narcotics financiers and manufacturers inside and outside the Philippines, including Chinese nationals who are currently in jail, according tot he report presented by Pres. Duterte.
Acierto was reportedly served as the mentor of fellow dismissed officer Deputy Director General of PDEA, Ismael Fajardo Jr. Sr. Supt. Eduardo Acierto was dismissed from service due to his involvement in the anomaluos purchase of 1,004 AK-47 rifles which later on were found in the possession of the New People's Army (NPA).
Supt. Acierto was also the was also the officer-in-charge of the defunct PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (PNP-AIDG) when its operative killed South Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo inside Camp Crame, Quezon City in October 2016. Acierto was not charged for command responsibility after the PNP-AIDG was dissolved by Pres. Duterte following Jee's death.

Aside from Acierto also involved in the new Drug Matrix are Police Senior Supt. Leonardo Suan; Police Superintendents Ismael Fajardo Jr. and Lorenzo Bacia; Police Inspectors Lito Pirote and Conrado Caragdag; and Senior Police Officer 4 Alejandro Gerardo Liwanag.
Based upon the report presented by Pres. Duterte "Acierto is regarded as among the senior officers of the PNP who spent most of his career in his anti-narcotics operations. However, he also earns the reputation of amassing wealth by recycling the drugs that they have confiscated and even earning substantial amount of money through extortion from apprehended suspects, especially Chinese nationals," the report said.
