A priest who celebrated Mass inside the Senate Hall where Sen. Antonio Trillanes stayed, to pray for the peaceful resolution to the chaos involving the amnesty being declared void, made headlines on social media after he prays for Pres. Duterte's illness, enrages netizens and slammed the priest for his ill statement against Pres. Duterte.

The priest identified as Father Noel Gatchalian stated during the homily "Noon pong marami ang kaguluhan ang nangyayari, na winawalanghiya pati ang ating relihiyon, binabastos pati ang ating Diyos, sinasabi ng ating Simbahan na magdasal. Sabi ko o sige magdasal, kaya pinagdasal ko na magkasakit si Digong," said Father Noel Gatchalian.

The priest, Father Noel Gatchalian who prayed that Pres. Duterte would get sick irked most netizens on social media particularly the supporters of Pres. Rody Duterte who took to social media to criticized the Priest statement and his alleged engagement through political statement using the pulpit.

Father Gatchalian also noted that "Ang totoo po niyan, isa lang iyan sa mga dalangin ko. Marami pa tayong [ibang panalangin], sapagkat kahit na tayo ay tahimik ay naghihintay lang tayo ng mga pagkakataon (The truth is, it's just one of my prayers. We are praying for other things because even if we are silent, we are just waiting for the right opportunity)" he added. 

The statement of the priest who conducted a mass inside the Philippine Senate where Sen. Trillanes stayed caught the attentions even the closest aide of Pres. Duterte, SAP Bong Go who commented by saying that he will just pray for the priest who speak ill of the President.

Netizens couldn't control their emotions as they took to social media and lambasted Father Noel Gatchalian for his ill statement against the President and some of them even accused the priest of being an alleged paid religious leader who is also a supporter of the Dilawans and Sen. Trillanes.
