Bagyong Ompong (Sept. 14 Updates) Slightly Speed Up; Signal No. 4 Raised in Cagayan & Isabela


Bagyong Ompong slight speed up according to the official forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). The weather bureau also reported that as Bagyong Ompong moves closer to Isabela and Cagayan it slightly gains some speed.



As of 4:00 PM today, September 14, 2018, the eye of Typhoon (Bagyong) Ompong was located, based on radar and other data, at 340 kilometer East Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora packing a maximum sustained winds of 205 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 255 kph.

Bagyong Ompong is forecast to move at 30 kilometer per hour.

According to National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council Spokesperson Edgar Posadas the number of individuals that will be affected by the typhoon increased to 5.2 million Firday from 4.2 million forecasts on Thursday.
