Spox Roque to Trillanes: "Kung Gusto Pong Magpa-Drugtest ng Presidente, Gagawin N'ya, Pero Hindi po Para Utusan Siya ng Kahit Sino"
During the press conference conducted inside the Malacanang Palace today, August 16, 2018, one of the reporter asked about the possibility of Pres. Rody Duterte having his own drug test as answer to the challenge presented by Sen. Antonio Trillanes.
The Presidential Spokesperson responded to the question by saying "Ang Presidente po ay halal ng Bayan, kung gusto pong magpa-drugtest ng Presidente, gagawin n'ya, pero hindi po para utusan siya ng kahit sino." Spox Roque stated.
Spox Harry Roque's statement intended to answer Sen. Trillanes request to let the President take a drug test was released to the media after one of the reporter read the statement of challenge presented by Sen. Trillanes, the most vocal critic of Pres. Duterte in the Philippine Senate.
The reporter read the statement of Sen. Trillanes that says "Ang sa akin na panawagan ko dapat, Office of the President and una, dapat si Duterte mismo para malaman ng taumbayan, kung yon mismong namumuno ng war on drugs ay hindi impluwensyado ng illegal na droga." the reporter read.
When asked by Spox Roque on about the particular question, the reporter asked by saying that when will the President undergo a drug test to answer Trillanes' challenge.
According to Spox Harry Roque he could not directly answer to the challenge of Trillanes because of the fact that the senator often made statements that even the Palace don't take care about.
Spox Roque was quoted as saying "Hindi ko po alam kung anong dapat na response dyan kay Sen. Trillanes, dahil marami naman talaga siyang sinasabi na hindi ko na pinapansin, at hindi rin pinapansin ng Palasyo." Roque stated.
