Miriam's Sister Schooled VP Leni Robredo For Not Knowing the Law of Naga

International lawyer and sister of the late Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Atty. Paula Santiago-Knack schooled Vice President Leni Robredo for not knowing the law of Naga or the City Ordinance enacted by his late husband, former DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo.

Vice President Leni Robredo denounced the President's suggestions to round up loiterers (tambay) but never arrest them by saying "The first question is why they will be arrested, because loitering itself is not a crime,” Robredo, a lawyer, said in an interview in Naga City.

The statement of VP Leni caught the attentions of some ntizens who criticized him for her statement. One of the concerned netizen was identified as Ilda Ignacio who reminded Robredo that the City of Naga enacted Ordinance 2004-095 that prohibited and penalizes loitering.

Ilda Ignacio added further that our Vice Presidenet Leni Robredo is ignorant of the Naga Laws, including the one signed by her husband while in power serving as Mayor of Naga City before being appointed by DILG Secretary during the Noynoy Aquino administration.

The statement of Ilda Ignacio was screen captured and shared by Atty. Paula Knack who has more than a million reach on Facebook and having thousands of followers.

Atty. Paula Defensor-Knack, Miriam's Sister was quoted as saying "She doesn't know the location of our disputed territories AND SHE DOES NOT EVEN KNOW THE LAW OF NAGA. YET SHE WAS A "HUMAN RIGHTS LAWYER IN NAGA!"

The veteran international lawyer also added a link of the said controversial Naga Ordinance to clarify the issue. The City Ordinance was authored by Hon. John G. Bongat, one of the City Councilor of Naga City.
