DDS Blogger Expose the P1.218 Mess by Pres. Aquino Due to It's Failure to Continue the Project of GMA

A concerned netizen and prominent DDS Blogger, Mark Lopez exposed the controversial P1.218 mess and losses of the Philippine government under former Pres. Aquino due to his failure to continue the project of former Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (GMA).

According to Mark Lopez last September 2006, Typhoon Milenyo struck the country and left in its wake P5.9 billion in damages and in September 2008, Typhoon Ondoy unleashed its fury in Manila caused damages of about P4.5 billion.

The two typhoons caused massive flooding in Metro Manila and as an offshoot, the GMA administration planned to mitigate flooding in the metropolis by embarking on a dredging project of the Laguna Lake, with the cooperation of Belgium.

Before the end of GMA administration's term in 2010, the P18.7 billion Laguna Lake Rehabilitation was supposed to be implemented, with the 157 year old Belgian dredging company Baggerwerken Decloedt En Zoon (BDC) as lead contractor.

However, in 2011, BS Aquino III unilaterally decided to cancel the contract, simply because he was “allergic” to such deals entered into by his predecessor. The Belgian sued and won against the Philippine government, by January 2017, the World  Bank’s International Settlement of Investment Disputes ruled in favor of Belgium and BDC, and has ordered the Philippine Government to pay BDC P800 Million!

Aside from the P800 million payment of the Philippine governmnet, the Office of the Solicitor General also paid the foreign law firm of White and Case LLP the amount of P 418 Million as legal fees for the arbitration case against BDC. A total of P1.218 Billion was paid by the Philippine Government during the Aquino admin due to the President's "allergic" reactions against the project of GMA.

Here's the Complete Expose of Mark Lopez:

DREDGING THE TRUTH

In September of 2006, Typhoon Milenyo struck the country and left in its wake P5.9 Billion in damages, and 197 deaths.

In September of 2009, Typhoon Ondoy unleashed its fury in Manila and caused damages of about P4.5 BILLION.

These were the typhoons which caused massive flooding in Metro Manila.

As an offshoot, the GMA administration planned to mitigate flooding in the metropolis by embarking on a dredging project of the Laguna Lake, with the cooperation of Belgium.

Prior to her term finish in 2010, the P 18.7 Billion Laguna Lake Rehabilitation was supposed to be implemented, with a 157 year old Belgian dredging company Baggerwerken Decloedt En Zoon (BDC) as lead contractor.

However, in 2011, BS Aquino III unilaterally decided to cancel the contract, simply because he was “allergic” to such deals entered into by his predecessor.

Belgium sued the government because according to BDC, it has already spent about P4Billion in preparatory and mobilization works.

In January 2017, the World Bank’s International Settlement of Investment Disputes ruled in favor of Belgium and BDC, and has ordered the Philippine Government to pay BDC P800 Million!

P 800 MILLION!

P800 Million of hard earned taxpayer’s money will have to be wasted, all because of the bs of BS Aquino III.

Worse, we recently learned that the Office of the Solicitor General, during the Aquino admin term, paid the foreign law firm of White and Case LLP the amount of P 418 Million as legal fees for the arbitration case against BDC.

P 800 Million

Plus

P 418 Million

Total P 1.218 BILLION!

Itatapon lang natin!

Dahil lang sa kapricho ng isang Aquino!
