Police Superintendent Jovie Espenido, Chief of Police of Ozamiz City released his official statement regarding the arrest of wanted fugitive Ricardo "Ardot" Parojinog, the brother of Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, in Taiwan.
According to Supt. Espenido, his team from Ozamiz City were making surveillance operations on the possible arrest of Ardot Parojinog and after 10 months of being on loose, the Ozamiz City councilor has been arrested by authorities in Taiwan as confirmed by the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday.

PNP spokesperson Chief. Supt. John Bulalacao confirmed to reporters the arrest of Ardot Parojinog, the younger brother of slain Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr, one of the alleged leader of the famous Kuratong Baleleng group during the early 90's.
Supt. Espenido revealed during an interview with some local media in Ozamiz City that for the past few months, he has some information about the whereabouts of Parojinog, and he knew that the fugitive was in Taiwan but his team could not pinpoint the exact location of Parojinog.
Ardot Parojinog was being hunted down by PNP personnel particularly by the Ozamiz City Police under the leadership of Supt. Espenido due to his alleged involvement in the illegal drugs trade as well as other unlawful activities.
The PNP also revealed that Parojinog hide in Taiwan using illegal immigration documents and his arrest came five days after the police in Ozamiz under Supt. Espenido raided his office and inn in Ozamiz City, where a cache of high-powered firearms and illegal drugs were recovered.

Before the arrest of Ardot Parojinog his lawyer, former Ozamiz City prosecutor Geronimo Marave Jr., was assassinated by unknown assailant.
Last September 2017, Pres. Rody Duterte offered a P5-million bounty for the arrest of City Councilor Ardot Parojinog, who has been in hiding since the bloody raid that killed Mayor Parojinog, his wife and 15 others.
