Pres. Rody Duterte through the initiative of his economimc advisers revealed one of his most ambitious plans for Luzon, the Pampanga Megalopolis Plan which is part of the ambitious Build Build Build Program of the Duterte admin.
The Pampanga Megalopolis Plan is a strategic framework that aims to optimize the use of the province's key resources particularly the 218 thousand hectares of land and its 2.6 million people.

Based upon the plans for the economic powerhouse province of Pampanga, an extensive Circumferential Road willl connect the key urban centers and outlying towns that will commence this year, reducing travel time substantially.
The modern Clark International Airport and the vast 4,500-hectare Clark Freeport Zone and the 9,000-hectare New Clark City are rapidly expanding.
The Megalopolis plans calls for contiguous geographical areas with complementing characteristics to focus on their respective comparative advantage. The pulcrum of Pampanga Megalopolis is the Central Triangle bounded by Angeles City; location of the Clark Freeport; San Fernando, the administrative capital; and Lubao, the westernmost town closest to the Subic International Seaport.
The Presentation of the Pampanga Megalopolis also noted that Pampanga does not aim to be another Mega Manila. Its strategy is to disperse economimc opportunities, not leaving any of its barangays or communities behind. The development agenda of Pampanga will always be strategic, inclusive and sustainable.
Radiating around the Central Triangle are four opportunity zones namely the Aeropolis, Agropolis, Ecopolis and the Aquapolis.
The Pampanga Megalopolis is considered as one of the most ambitious project of the Duterte administration which aims to decongest Metro Manila from the perennial traffic problems.
