Netizen Criticizes Inquirer for Misleading Headlines About UP Students Protesters

A concerned netizen identified as Andrea Carigma took to social media and criticized one of the oldest news media organization in the country, Inquirer for their misleading headlines that reads "Duterte threatens to kick out protesting UP students," despite the fact that President Duterte never said such a thing.

President Rody Duterte during an event in Panabo, Davao City with some of the Lumads, he said that he would give the slots of the student rallyists to the bright lumads who didn't have the opportunity to study in the prestigious University of the Philippines.

According to President Duterte for those UP students who are no longer interested to study at UP because they always walk out from their classes, he just stated that they don't deserved to study at UP because of their behavior therefore he will give the chance to the Lumads but he did no figuratively stated that he would kick out the UP protesters as what Inquirer allegedly implied to impart to their readers.

Here's the Complete Statement of the Concerned Netizen:

Eto na naman tayo sa headlines...

“Duterte threatens to kick out protesting UP students”

What he actually said:

“So sa mga mga pinagpapatuloy ang pag po-protesta, wag kayong mag walkout sa room niyo. Bibigyan ko kayo ng pribilehiyo, wag na kayong pumasok sa eskwela ng isang taon dahil ipapasok ko diyan yung mga Filipino na gusto ng magandang edukasyon. Libre diyan,”

“Diyan nalang kayo sa kalye. Go ahead! Dahil kukuha ako ng mga bago (estudyante), ilalagay ko sila diyan. Pera naman yan ng bayan,” Duterte said.

PS. The heart of the statement: caring sarcasm (you know your parents probably did this to you, too ) and.... the slots will be given to bright Lumads.
