Concerned netizen and prominent social media blogger, Mark Lopez revealed on social media some proof that Maria Ressa is indeed lying when she admitted that even their investors Omidyar Network and North Base Media could not influence on how they handled Rappler.
Lopez questioned the statement released by Maria Ressa, because of the fact that it just took a few hours after the announcement of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that the registration of Rappler was revoked, some of the world's most popular news media outlets picked up the news about Rappler.
It's only that the international news media outlets picked up the story about Rappler but they instantly twisted all the facts provided by SEC on the reasons why Rappler's registration was revoked which is due to the company's alleged violations against the Constitution.
Here's Some of the Headlines by the International News Media Outlets:
The Sacramento Bee: Philippine online news site critical of Duterte ordered shut
Indian Express: Philippine news website's license revoked after President Rodrigo Duterte threat
The New York Times: Philippines Shuts Down News Site Critical of Rodrigo Duterte
Al Jazeera: Philippine government seeks to close Rappler website
The Washington Post: Philippine authorities move to shut down media site critical of Duterte
Nikkie Asian Review: Philippines shuts down news site critical of Duterte

The international press was able to run a story about Rappler although it is not considered as one of the major news in the Philippines during that particular time because there are other more important issues which were reported by the local media in the Philippines.
Here's the Complete Statement of Mark Lopez:
