Netizens took to social media as they reacted on the way the mainstream media presented the defeat of Sen. Manny Pacquiao against Yordenis Ugas. ABS-CBN and PhilStar uses the photo of Manny Pacquiao getting down when he was pushed by Ugas.
A few minutes after the announcement of Manny Pacquiao's defeat in the Welterweight title bout against Ugas, the mainstream media in the Philippines immediately reported the defeat of the boxing icon.
Athough the Pacquiao was really defeated unanmimously during the boxing bout against Ugas, netizens reacted after the mainstream media allegedly uses a wrong photo in the defeat of Pacquiao.
The mainstream media uses a photo wherein Manny Pacquiao was seen landing on his feet at the canvas after an exchange of blows from Ugas but in reality, Pacquiao was not knocked down on that stage it was merely a slip on his part.
Netizens were surprised upon seeing the photos of Pacquiao went down as they saw what really happened during the game.
The alleged manipulations of the mainstream media was exposed on social media by some concerned individuals.
Facebook page VovPh posted a screenshot of how ABS-CBN reported the defeat of Pacquiao. Aside from ABS-CBN, PhilStar also used the photo of Pacquiao getting down.
Some concerned netizen also called out ABS-CBN for their alleged misused of the said photo of Pacquiao. The netizen question why the media used the said photo because Pacquiao was never knocked down during his bout with Ugas.
