Businessman Lectures Sen. Manny Pacquiao on his Ambitious Plans to End Squatter Problems

A concerned netizen and veteran businessman made an unsolicited advice to Sen. Manny Pacquiao as he lectured the lawmaker on his plans to end the squatter problems in the Philippines once he will be elected as President.

The concerned businessman who lectured the senator was identified as Carlo dde Leon who took to Facebook and tell Sen. Pacquiao that his plan to make the country squatter free in 4-5 years if he becomes President of the country is indeed impossible project based on realities.

Before lecturing the country's boxing pride turned lawmaker, Sen. Manny Pacquiao, he made it clear that he like the senator's ambition but he was very honest to tell the lawmaker that his ambitious plan is the giveaway he knows nothing about management of projects of gargantuan scale.

The businessman then do the Math for the senator to ponder upon so that the senator could arrive to the amount needed to buld the houses for all the informal settlers in the country.

De Leon then asked the senator about the source of funding for hiss ambitious project.

"Let's do the math. About 4.5 million homeless people are living in informal settlements. Let's assume it cost 100k per low-cost house; that's already P450 Billion over 4 to 5 years. Where will you get the money? From the national budget, I suppose (if approved) or from your pocket."

"Let's do the feasibility, 4.5 million houses in 5 years is 900,000 a year, 75,000 a month, & 2,500 homes a day! Wow!"

The businessman explained further that Sen. Manny Pacquiao's project to eliminate squatting problem in the Philippines is an impossible task because of some factors.

Read the Complete Statement of Carlo de Leon:

Oh Manny, I admire your ambition, but your lack of education and knowledge of large-scale project management is apparent.

Let’s do the math. About 4.5 million homeless people are living in informal settlements. Let’s assume it cost 100k per low-cost house; that’s already P450 Billion over 4 to 5 years. Where will you get the money? From the national budget, I suppose (if approved) or from your pocket.

Let’s do the feasibility. 4.5 million houses in 5 years is 900,000 a year, 75,000 a month, & 2,500 homes a day! Wow!

Here’s the thing. Even if Manny gets a budget, the build time makes the project impossible— including relocation issues—eviction problems, and local government concerns.
