Presidential Spokersperson and alumnus of the University of the Philippines, Secretary Harry Roque burned down veteran news presenter Pinky Webb during a live video interview with CNN Philippines.
The veteran journalist Pinky asked the reactions of Sec. Roque regarding the statement of UP Professor Danilo Arao who challenge UP Faculty and Alumni who are Duterte's top-level officials to denounce DND Secretary Lorenzana's letter terminating the controversial 1989 accord between the Defense Department and the University of the Philippines.
Danilo Arao posted the following on Twitter: "Challenge: UP faculty and alumni who are Duterte's top-level officials should denounce Lorenzana's letter terminating the 1989 accord. This disregards everythig that UP stands for. Should they remain silent, a six-word question: Where is your honor and excellence?" Arao tweeted.
Pinky Webb asked Secretary Roque whether he denounced the decision of the DND regarding their agreement with the University of the Philippines but Sec. Roque burned down Hontiveros by saying that "I am asking the DND Secretary to sit down with the UP leadership and my good office is willing to facilitate this meeting."
The journalist keeps on insisting whether Roque denounced the letter of the DND as a former student and professor of UP but Roque brilliantly answered Pinky Webb.
"I'm also a Presidential Spokesperson, All I'm saying is, let's talk about this, I support the steps of the UP President, and let's see why a 30-year-old accord should not be continued, when it worked apparently pretty well for the past 30 years."
When Pinky Webb made a follow-up question "So that doesn't make you silent on the issue because you are actually taking a stand."
Secretary Harry Roque immediately responded by saying "And I am not duty-bound to follow anything that Professor Arao says."
