Veteran TV Presenter and political analyst Jay Sonza urged the Filipino public to learn from the history of Philippine media company, particularly ABS-CBN's history in 1986 and their reccent closure this year.
According to Jay Sonza in February 1986, after the EDSA Mutiny, former Pres. Cory Aquino and her cabal took over the three (3) larlgest broadcasting network, Radio Philippines Network, Intercontinental Broadcasting Company and Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation by way of take over and sequestration.
The closure of the broadcasting company resulted into loss of jobs of thousands of employees, billions or millions of income losses for the company as well as losses of taxes for the government but in 1986 nobody went to the streets for protests, nobody cried that democracy is dead and press freedom is suppressed and human rights violations against the government unlike what happened today.
During the 1986 closure of the three media companies, thousands of people lost their jobs and the government lost it's taxes but nobody cried for the suppression of freedom, when compared to the situations of ABS-CBN right now wherein a company allegedly owned by a foreigner, did not pay the right taxes and obligations to their employees, some people took to the streets and cried suppression of freedom.

In February 1986, after the EDSA Mutiny, Cory Aquino and her cabal took over the three (3) largest broadcasting network namely, Radio Philippines Network, Intercontinental Broadcasting Company and Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation by way of take over and sequestration.
Walang nagpupumiglas at sumisigaw ng democracy is dead, press freedom is suppressed at human rights violation at paninikil ng pribadong negosyo kagaya ngayong 2020.
Igalang. Sumunod. Respeto. Walang Kulay. Walang Ribbon.
