How to Avail the DOLE-TUPAD Program (Barangay Ko, Bahay Ko Disinfection/Sanitation Project)

One of the intervention made by the Department of Labor and Employment to ease the burden of daily expenses by families affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine is the DOLE-TUPAD (Barangay Ko, Bahay Ko Disinfection/Sanitation Project).

According to the DOLE, the TUPAD BKBK is a safety net program of the Labor Department intended for the workers from the informal sector who were greatly affected, particularly their livelihoods due to the imposition of the Enhanced Community Quarantine against COVID-19.

The beneficiaries of the said program are the underemployed, self-employed and those whose livelihoods were affected due to the implementation of the ECQ in different parts of the country. It will be implemented in various Barangay in different parts of the country imposing ECQ.

In order to avail the program initiated by the Department of Labor and Employment, its regional offices and designated Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of various Local Government Units in the Philippines, interested workers should coordinate with the LGU or Barangay who are doing the profiling for candidates who will qualified to avail the TUPAD BKBK Program of DOLE.

Here's How to Avail the TUPAD BKBK Program:

1. The LGU or Barangay  will conduct the profiling of possible benificiaries who will be qualified to avail with the said program. Interested applicants could contact their Barangay Captains for the profiling but make sure that residents will not flock to the Barangay Hall because we are under ECQ.

2. After the profiling, the LGU or the Barangay will pass some requirements and it should be emailed to the respective e-mail addresses provided by DOLE Regional Office.

3. The DOLE will approve the application listed by the Barangay and the Local Government Units (LGUs).

4. The LGU or the Barangay will lead the implementation of TUPAD BKBK and they will do the monitoring of the said project.

5. The LGU or the Barangay are advised to provide some cleaning equipment and cleaning solutions to all qualified beneficiaries who will work for 10 days under the DOLE-TUPAD Program.

6. After the scheduled work program and accomplishments of all DOLE-TUPAD beneficiaries, the LGU or the Barangay will submit to DOLE the Certification proving that the beneficiaries have already completed the disinfection and sanitation jobs within their jurisdiction. The accomplishment report will be forwarded to the DOLE Regional Office.

7. The beneficiaries can then received their salaries after the documentary requirements will be completed through various means such the Money Remittance Centers and the actual giving of salaries to the beneficiaries with the assistance of the LGU and the Barangay but they must comply with the social distancing measures.
