Veteran journalist, author and political strategist Jose Alejandrino urged the President of the Republic to re-organize the Office of the President and hire his daughter Mayor Sarah Duterte and Atty. Glenn Chong to key positions in his office.
According to Alejandrino, he already suggested earlier for a re-organization of the Office of the President but this time around he made mentioned of some names to replace the Executive Secretary which is a demanding one.
Although Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdia is a good, loyal man, but at 67 years old he is already showing signs of fatigue to continue handling the job. He deserved some rest or transfer him to a lesser demanding position like chairman of a GOCC.
Jose Alejandrino explained that the Executive Secretary should enjoy the total trust of the President and nobody deserved higher compared to Mayor Sara Duterte which will be a good training for the younger Duterte before succeeding to the presidency in 2022. To assist Mayor Sara she needs the help of Atty. Glenn Chong.

In previous postings, I had urged Duterte to reorganise the Office of the President. The job of Executive Secretary is a demanding one. Sal Medialdea is a good, loyal man, but at 67 years old he is showing signs of fatigue to continue handling a big job. Bingbong deserves some rest and in Digong’s shoes I would transfer him to a lesser demanding position like, say, chairman of a GOCC, which Bingbong deserves.
Who to replace Bingbong? It will have to be someone who enjoys the total trust of Duterte. The departure of Bong Go left a big void in the Palace. In the president’s shoes, I would ask Inday Sara to take the job during the last three years of his term. It will be good training for Sara before succeeding to the presidency in 2022. It will also be good training for her brother the vice-mayor of Davao to assume the mayoralty now.
Sara will need a good deputy executive secretary to assist her. I would suggest Glenn Chong who has the guts to tame Smartmatic before the 2022 elections. With Sara and Glenn, both smart and gutsy, in OP they will put the fear of God into those dreaming of becoming power blocs in the Palace.
The president also deserves some rest. He has been fighting battles almost single-handedly for a man of 74 years. With a young re-engined Office of the President headed by someone he can trust like his own daughter, that rest will come.
