Pres. Duterte to Meet With PhilHealth Officials Amid P100 Billlion "Bogus Claims"

President Rodrigo Duterte who is best known for his anti-corruption drive is scheduled to meet with the officials of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) amid the controversial P100 Billion "Bogus Claims."


Health Secretary Francisco Duque announced the the scheduled meeting between PhilHealth officials and the President this afternoon amid reports of fraudulent claims hounding the government health insurance agency.



Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo also confirmed the scheduled meeting during an interview with some news media outlets in the Palace.

According to the Spokesman "siguro magre-report sila (PhilHealth officials) kasi diba he (Duterte) instructed them to make a comprehensive report on what is happening in PhilHealth," Panelo stated.

When asked on whether Pres. Duterte plans to sack PhilHealth officials, Sec. Panel just responded with the following statement: "Hindi natin alam yung mangyayari, na kay Presidente lahat yan."



Over the weekend Pres. Rody Duterte said he would "reorganize" PhilHealth following a scandal involving bogus insurance claims allegedly amounting to more than P100 billion in taxpayer's money.

Pres. Duterte also tasked the PhilHealth Management on Friday "to institute criminal actions against those officials and employees who wittingly or unwittingly allowed such misuse of funds to ake place for years."
