Mayor Marcelo Gayeta of Sariaya, Quezon has appealed to Pres. Rody Duterte to help him obtain justice for his son who was allegedly killed by some men of controversial General Edward Carranza who was also accused earlier by Atty. Glenn Chong as the mastermind in the killing of his aide Richard Santillan.
In an interview with the media, Mayor Gayeta was quoted as saying "If the police can do this dastardly crime to the son of a government official, what more to a helpless citizen?" Mayor Gayeta stated.

According to the initial investigation of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the 21-year-old Christian Gayeta, son of Mayor Marcelo Gayeta, and Christopher Man, an embalmer at the Gayeta family's funeral parlor, did not die in a gunfight but were murdered by policemen on March 14, 2019, the NBI said.
“We already have the testimonies of four policemen involved. It was not an encounter but plain murder carried out by policemen themselves,” Dominador Villanueva, an agent in charge of the NBI Lucena district office, told the Inquirer on Tuesday.
The Mayor of Sariaya, Mayor Gayeta sought the NBI's help in conducting a separate investigation of the killing of Christian Gayeta, and Christopher Manalo.
A Quezon Police Official suspects his men may have staged the alleged "shootout" that killed Sariaya, Quezon Mayor Marcelo Gayeta's son Christian and his companion Christopher Manalo last March 14.
The PNP placed 18 men linked to the incident under restrictive custody of the Quezon Provincial Police. Five of them have been relieved, including the Quezon and Tayabas police chiefs and three other officers, 15 have surfaced, but the Tayabas chief and two other officers are still missing as of writing.
The controversial Calabarzon PNP Head, Chief Supt. Edward Carranza was allegedly involved, according to the statement of Sariaya Mayor Marcelo Gayeta.
