The tough-talking President of the Philippines, Pres. Rody Duterte calls former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay, a close friend of Noynoy Aquino as "Bugok!, noong SolGen, palaging talo gobyerno!"
According to Pres. Rody Duterte he is not impressed with senatorial bet Florin Hilbay's two-year stint as solicitor general during the Aquino administration.
The President claimed that the government during Aquino's term lost majority of its cases when Hilbay was Solicitor General from 2014 to 2016 and called him "bugok" or dumb.
Pres. Duterte was quoted as saying "Ito si Hilbay? Palaging talo tayo sa gobyerno, solicitor general, akala mo, bugok," Pres. Duterte said in a speech in Isabela.
Former Solicitor General Hilbay, a protege of the late Senator Jovito Salonga, was part of the government team won the landmark 2016 decision of the United Nations Permanent Court of Arbitration which junked China’s historic rights claim to the South China Sea based on its nine-dash line principle.
The President added further that "Alam mo sinasabi ko bugok 'yan sila lahat. They were threatening me with ICC (International Criminal Court). Ako alam ko na. Noong unang investigation ni De Lima sa Davao - she was the chairman of the commission. She investigeated me when she was the secretary of Justice. Then she investigated me when she was a senator and hanggang ngayon sige Duterte, Duterte," said the President.
