The tough-talking President of the Republic, President Rody Duterte who was once ridiculed by his critics on his ability to lead the country, inaugurated on Thursday a new six-lane toll road that is expected to alleviate traffic congestion in Metro Manila.
Pres. Rody Duterte opened the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10, a 5.65-kilometer elevated expressway that traverses the cities of Valenzuela, Malabon, and Caloocan.
According to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) headed by Secretary Mar Villar, the expressway is seen to improve accessibility and connectivity between key areas of Metro Manila and some provinces of Luzon via the North Luzon Expressway and is expected to benefit around 20,000 motorists per day.

Based on estimates, travel time between Valenzuela City and Caloocan, for example, will be reduced from one hour to about five minutes.
The President reminded the Filipino people and the residents of Metro Manila not to believe in anyone who claimed credit for the said projects because it is indeed funded by the people with the help of the builders, contractors and government partners.
Pres. Duterte was quoted as saying "We are not into claim and credit syndrome." "All of the projects that we undertake and will do, for the rest of my term."
"We give our gratitude, to the builders, contractors, the partners of government, and to, we face it in the name of the people of the Republic of the Philippines.
Pres. Duterte reiterated further that "We do not claim any, just because you mention it in passing some time, it's not because we are claiming any credit."
The President noted that "Nobody can claim credit in the name of the people, it is their money and for all of us." " Yon lang ha just a reminder."
