Veteran businessman and philanthropist Jojo "Jo" Soliman burned down some prominent newspaper, the Mindanao Insider and Tribune through their Facebook Pages due to their alleged fake news about the Santa Rosa Rice brand.
The controversy started when the Mindanao Insider/Tribune shared a post made by Timothy Xavier Te who asked if the said Santa Rosa are allowed to be put on sale to grocery stores, and they added the following statement "Look: GOV'T RICE FOR GIVEAWAY BEING SOLD IN MAJOR DAVAO CITY SUPERMART."
Timothy Xavier Te posted the following statement "Pwede diay ni ibaligya sa grocery? EDIT : Did some digging around, and dili ni giveaway, murag gov. Subsidized or tax break for rice importers." Xavier posted.
The statement of Timothy Xavier Te and the Mindanao Insider/Tribune caught the attention of Jojo Soliman, the businessman is best known for his initiative together with the business community to help the Duterte administration by selling premium rice at an affordable price.
Here's How Jo Soliman Burned Down Mindanao Insider and Tribune:
Dear Mindanao Insider/Tribune,
The Santa Rosa Rice Brand and our other Brands is privately owned and PATENTED brands. Am forwarding your concern to the Palace and concerned agencies so you can verify your claim.
We started the selling of low priced rice to help the Government and the Filipino People.
There was not a single centavo from the government that is used in this private initiative.
This is ALL a private business and project. If you are not happy then please send your complain to President Rody Duterte. Thank you.
Very truly yours,
Jomerito Soliman
