Thinking Pinoy Asks: "Will Ateneo Bullying Victims Steps Forward, Will DepEd Suspend Ateneo License?"

Prominent blogger and considered as one of the most influential social media personality Thinking Pinoy asked his followers the possible implications of Ateneo after one of their student was involved in a controversial bullying video that went viral on social media.

According to Thinking Pinoy, who has more than a million followers on Facebook, he wonders if the other victims of bullying inside Ateneo will step forward and what will the DepEd do to the said school. Will DepEd suspend Ateneo's license to operate as an educational institution.

The veteran blogger revealed on his latest post that there were several online videos suggests that it's not Taekwondo Kid's first time to bully a classmate in the Ateneo Junior High School.

Additionally, several AHS parents reportedly claim that the school never takes bullying complaints seriously, especially if the offender is well-connected.

Thinking Pinoy also slammed Ateneo for their statement and releasing of documents that Joaquin Montes was already dismissed from Ateneo, however the school enjoined everyone to help promote healing despite evidence showing that Taekwondo Kid wasn't the lone perpetrator, i.e his cohorts appear to have gotten away with what they have done.

TP reminded Ateneo that per the Section 6 of the Anti-Bullying Law (RA 10627), if sufficient number of bullying victims report Ateneo's negligence over the years, DepEd can suspend or revoke the school's license to operate, forcing Ateneo HS to shut down? TP asked.

Here's the Complete Statement of Thinking Pinoy:

WILL ATENEO HS BULLYING VICTIMS STEP FORWARD? WILL DEPED SUSPEND ATENEO'S LICENSE?

Several online videos suggest that it's not Taekwondo Kid's first time to bully a classmate in THE Ateneo de Manila University. Additionally, several AHS parents reportedly claim that the school never takes bullying complaints seriously, especially if the offender is well-connected.

I have read Ateneo's press release stating that Taekwondo Kid has been dismissed. With the same breath, however, Ateneo enjoined everyone to help promote healing (i.e. "move on") despite evidence showing that Taekwondo Kid wasn't the lone perpetrator, i.e. his cohorts appear to have gotten away with what they have done.

To add insult to injury, Ateneo in the same statement called for everyone to refrain from fanning flames while at the same time asked everyone to speak up against bullying.

Tumahimik pero mag-speak up? How is that even possible? Nakikipaglokohan yata sa publiko ang mga ito e.

With that said, did you know that per the Section 6 of the Anti-Bullying Law [RA 10627], if a sufficient number of bullying victims report Ateneo's negligence over the years, DepEd can suspend or revoke the school's license to operate, forcing Ateneo HS to shut down?

I think 2019 will be a very interesting year indeed.
