Veteran journalist and prominent political analyst Bobi Tiglao exposed some evidence about the facts that during regime of former Pres. Cory Aquino, the human rights abuse were rampant compared to the Marcos administration.
In the latest column of Bobi Tiglao for Bulgar Online he revealed that based on evidence presented by some prominent national security and foreign affairs expert Richard Kessler, which was presented on his book titled "Rebellion and Repression in the Philippines' (1989: Yale University).
According to Bobi Tiglao, Richard Kessler is the former director of the United States Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. The American author claimed that during the administration of former Pres. Cory Aquino, the human rights records of the Philippines is rampant when compared to the administration of former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos.
Richard Kessler showed on his study the abuse and human rights records of the Cory Aquino administration. Kessler revvealed that during the Cory presidency were 3,627 cases of human rights abuse which is way higher compared to the 1,960 human rights records of the Marcos administration.
In the first three years of the Cory Aquino administration, a total of 244 deaths were recorded while Pres. Marcos only recorded a total of 296 deaths during his term as President which lasted for 20 years. The number of deaths during the Cory Aquino admin even increased in the last three years of the Aquino admin.
The international author also revealed some incident about the human rights abuses during the administration of Cory Aquino which is now considered as a black eye to the critics of Pres. Duterte and the critics of former Pres. Marcos who keeps on insisting that human rights abuses were rampant during the Marcos regime.
