Trillanes Lawyer Admits They Could Not Find the Senator's Amnesty Application


Veteran lawyer Atty. Reynaldo Robles, one of Sen. Antonio Trillanes' lawyer, admitted before the Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 150 that they could not find Sen. Trillanes' copy of the amnesty application form he filed.



Makati RTC Judge Elmo Alameda asked Atty. Robles for copy of Sen. Antonio Trillanes' amnesty application form as an undeniable proof that he has complied with the basic requirements for an amnesty during Friday's hearing, but the camp of the Senator failed to present evidence of the amnesty application.



Judge Alameda was quoted as saying "The court needs the actual appplication." Alameda asked but Atty. Robles replied by saying that "He cannot find his copy," the lawyer of Trillanes admitted.

The Makati RTC Branch 150 is handling the rebellion case against Trillanes and the other Magdalo soldiers for the 2007 Manila Peninsula siege.

In an ambush interview with Atty. Robles, he told reporters that they are still trying to locate Trillanes' amnesty application form, which is needed as one of the most vital evidence in court.

During the hearing, Atty. Robles presented as evidence a video footage of the actual filing of application form before a certain Col. Josefa Berbigal. However, the arguments of Robles was denied by the court. Judge Alameda stated that hte video is not authenticated.

Atty. Robles then assured the court that they will present additional proof to authenticate their evidence.
