Watch the Speech of Pres. Duterte with the OFWs in Israel:
Pres. Rody Duterte meets with around 1,400 Filipinos who warmly welcome him and the Philippine Delegation during the Filipino Community Meeting. The meeting with OFWs and Filipino expats in various countries the Philippine President visited is already a tradition for the very first President from Mindanao.
For the record, according to H.E. Nathaniel Imperial, Philippine Ambassador to the State of Israel, there are an estimated 28,000 Filipino working and residing in Israel. Most of the OFWs in Israel are working as caregivers.
Pres. Duterte's visit to the "Holy Land" is considered as the very first by any Filipino head of state. One of the reason why Pres. Duterte decided and his delegation visited the country is to strengthen the diplomatic relationships between the Philippines and Israel.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Department of National Defense chief are also planning to buy more arms and equipment from Israel, one of the world's most prominent and trusted arms dealer in the world. Some modern weaponry were already delivered by an Israeli company to the Philippine government during the past few months.
Aside from Israel, the Philippine President and his delegation is also expected to visit the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan right after his state visit to Israel.
