A viral video is now circulating on social media and some photos were shared online showing the excitement of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Israelis for the highly anticipated visit of Pres. Rody Duterte in Israel this September.
It seems that not only Filipinos or OFWs in Israel are excited with the visit of the Philippine President in one of the world's most progressive country, Israel, but also the residence of Israel who idolized Pres. Duterte's leadership.
The former Mayor of Davao City turned President of the Republic is scheduled to visit Israel today, September 2-6, 2018. Pres. Duterte's visit to the Jewish country would be the first ever instance a Filipino head of state visit the Holy Land.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the video clearly showed how Israelis were seen waving the Philippine and Israeli flag and shouting "I Love the Philippines." The video also contradicts the claims made by the President's critics that he will not be welcome in the Jewish country because of his past statements against the Jews.
Watch the Excitement of OFWs and Israelis for Pres. Duterte's Visit:
Pres. Duterte's visit to Israel will be an opportunity for the Filipino leader to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and he will also meet thousands of Filipino workers in Israel. The country is home to more than 28,000 Filipinos, most of them were working as caregivers.
The Philippine President is also expected to sign agreements with Prime Minister Netanyahu on areas of cooperation, including labor, science, and investment. There's also a huge possibility that an arms deal will be sign between the Philippines and Israel.
Aside from the scheduled visit of Pres. Rody Duterte to the Jewish State of Israel, the President is also scheduled to visit the neighboring Jordan to meet one of the world's most prominent soldier and head of state, King Abdullah II.
