The tough-talking President of the Philippines, President Rody Duterte slammed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after Pres. Duterte remembered the time when the Prime Minister blocked the supposed purchase of attack helicopters by the Philippine government from the Canadian government.


Pres. Duterte was quoted as saying "For God’s sake Mr. Trudeau, my own citizens are rebelling against us, killing my soldiers and policemen and civilians. And I cannot use the helicopter because they are citizens but they are out to overthrow my government. If you cannot understand, you should not be there in that mighty post of yours because you do not know the history of the world and geopolitics," Pres. Duterte stated.

The Philippine President was referring to the February purchase, the Philippine government signed the multimillion-dollar contract to buy 16 Bell 412 choppers from Canada.



However, a day after it was signed, Prime Minister Trudeau of Canada ordered the Canadian government to review the deal between the Philippines and the Canadian supplier to review the deal over human rights concerns. Due to the decision of Canada, the Philippine government ordered the cancellation of this contract.

Pres. Duterte ordered the Armed Forces by saying "Do not buy anymore from Canada or from the United States (US) because there is always a condition attached." Pres. Duterte said.
