A son of a veteran power plant designer during the Marcos Regime, identified himself as Lyndonne Fabregas who claimed that he personally knew something about the topic regarding the controversial Bataan Nuclear Power Plant which was stopped by the Cory Aquino admin during her term.
The statement of Lyndonne Fabregas is in response to the alleged fake news shared by the University of the Philippines Student Council (UPSC) on Facebook with their viral post dubbed "13 Reasons Why Marcos is Not a Hero.
According to the claim of the UPSC, "Marcos built so many infrastructures but not without debting a total of $395.51 Billion foreign aid in that is still taxed for until now." the UP student group claimed on their social media post.
The statement of the UPSC was slammed by the son of the power plant designer as he revealed that his dad was part of the National Power Corporation during the "golden times" when the Philippines is considered as the frontrunners when it comes to powerplants in Asia.
It was during the Marcos regime, his father was part of the group engineers that were sent to the various countries to study about power plants. Lyndonne's father was sent to the US and even design a power plant in the US and he was also sent to Australia to study again about power plants and take note it's free guaranteed by the Philippine government.
The father of Lyndonne also revealed that for the past few years, his father always tells him the reason why electricity here in the Philippines is costly, and was monopolized. In his father's opinion, the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant was like a business, "umutang para matayo, tapos hindi pa operational shinutdown agad. Kumbaga, hindi nabawi ng Pilipinas pinuhunan sa BNPP." Lyndonne Fabregas revealed.
Here's the Complete Revelations of Lyndonne Fabregas:
Well just sharing, my dad was part of National Power Corporation, during the "golden times". Back then daw Ph is one of the frontrunners when it comes to powerplants in Asia. During marcos time, silang engineers ay pinapadala sa ibang bansa to know how to build it.
Specifically my father was assigned in US, design for a Nuclear Power plant there and was sent to Australia to study again btw it was free. For many years he always tells me the reason why electricity here in ph is costly, and was monopolized. Well in his opinion, BNPP was like a business, umutang para matayo, tapos hindi pa operational shinutdown agad. Kumbaga, hindi nabawi ng pilipinas pinuhunan sa BNPP. Don't underestimate engineers who designed it back then, it was built to last.
To tell you the truth, only few people can design and build new powerplants today. He's 69 right now served NAPOCOR from the day he graduated in college till 2001, and imagine people would still go and see him to consult about powerplants. The knowledge was never passed, it regressed. No one can even build a road efficiently here, back then we build wonders, now we cant even build a quality road.
Oh and before anyone tells me where to get sources, I can let you meet my dad. You can ask him about what the truth about it. He was assigned sa halos lahat ng powerplants sa pilipinas. I can give you his CV if you need proof, it's a 40 page experience.
Here's Some of the Information Added by Lyndonne on His Succeeding Comments:
Lyndonne Fabregas: Noriezhen it was operational, pero its called commissioning stage prang trial run, 3 months daw pinagana and dinistribute ang kuryente sa consumers. My dad was in the task force pala convincing the congress na wag ishutdown. Kasi that time time the senators voted 24-0 in favor of shutting down.
Lyndonne Fabregas: Oh btw to add facts, the consulting firm habang ginagawa yun was from US - Ebasco ata name nung company which is the leading firm when it comes to powerplants including nuclear power plants. Nung pinapunta si dad sa US, dun siya nagwork, their office was in World Trade center pa back then.
Lyndonne Fabregas: Lee Hyun Ki the cost of electricity is so high because of the privatization of energy. Hindi naman ipprivatize ang energy if di ngkaron ng energy crisis, at hindi magkakaron ng energy crisis if di sinara ang BNPP.
Lyndonne Fabregas: And 2.3B cost for nuclear power plant is small compared sa dinesign nila dad sa US - Comanche Peak Nuclear Power plant which is 2400MW cost is Trillions. So please tigil tigilan niyo sabhn na mas mahal yung planta kasi mahal talaga siya. Safety? You should ask US, most of their Aircraft carriers are nuclear powered. BNPP was designed for Tsunamis even it's on high level ground, Earthquake magnitude 8. And it was built to withstand bombings.
