Pres. Duterte Alloted P225 Million for the Upgrading & Rehabilitation of Navotas Fish Port


The tough-talking President of the Republic of the Philippines, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte alloted P225 million for upgrading the Navotas Fish Port so it can be more durable, beautiful and developed.


Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go visited the Navotas Fish Port and told officials and workers on August 9, 2018, that the Duterte administration allocated millions of funds to improve, one of the country's major fish port located in Metro Manila.



SAP Bong Go was also the guest speaker to the celebration of the 42nd anniversary of the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority.

During the year 2017, particularly in September, the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) planned for the rehabilitation and upgrade of a port in Navotas as they conducted feasibility study works.

By October 2017, PFDA issued RFD for appointing contractor with submission deadline as November 3, 2017 and GCI Construction and Development Corporation has been appointed as contractor. On December 7, 2017, PFDA issued Letter of awar to contractor. The Pre-Construction activities are underway an is expected to be completed in 2020 under the administration of Pres. Duterte.



The P225 Million worth of Navotas Fish Port rehabilitation an upgrade will include the construction of harbors; construction of public spaces; construction of cargo terminals; constructioon of warehouses; construction of logistic area; construction of training centers; construction of offices; construction of maintenance workshops; construction of warehouse for perishable product; and installation of security and control systems.
