Netizens Reacts on Opposition Statements Against CJ De Castro's Nomination as Supreme Court Chief Justice
Netizens took to social media as they lambasted some opposition lawmakers who were vocal on their opposition against the nomination of the newly-installed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, Chief Justice Teresita Leonardo-De Castro who was appointed earlier by Pres. Rody Duterte after nominations presented by the Judicial and Bar Council of the Philippines (JBC).
According to some netizens this is the sad reality of the country's politics, there seems to be color-coding always, because these lawmakers always express their disappointments and non-approval of Pres. Duterte's decision to nominate somebody who are not alligned with the Yellows (Dilawans) or the Liberal Party of the Philippines.
The nominations of CJ Teresita De Castro was met with opposition from Liberal Party-alligned lawmakers like Rep. Gary Alejano, Rep. Edcel Lagman and Sen. Risa Hontiveros.
Rep. Gary Alejano, the former Magdalo leader who became a Representative for Magdalo Party-List stated that "Ang pagtatalaga ni Duterte kay Teresita De Castro bilang Pulong Mahistrado ay maliwanag na nagpapakita ng bayad-utang, kawalan ng delicadeza at kagarapalan sa gobyernong ito." Rep. Gary Alejano stated.
Rep. Edcel Lagman on his part said: "De Castro should have seriously considered declining her nomination and refusing her impending appointment as chief justice of the Supreme Court considering the seriousness of the impeachment complaint against her for culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust." Rep. Lagman said.
Sen. Risa Hontiveros who is best known among the DDS defenders as one of the alleged personalities involved in the controversial disbursement of billions of PhilHeatlh funds also questioned the appointment of Chief Justic De Castro by no less than Pres. Rody Duterte himself, despite the fact that CJ De Castro followed all protocols and processes before she was appointed to the highest position in the Supreme Court.
Sen. Risa Hontiveros was quoted as saying "President Rodrigo Duterte's appointment of the one who will become the shortest-serving Chief Justice in the country's history is absolutely short-sighted." Sen. Hontiveros stated.

Duterte for appointing CJ De Castro should not blame the President because he was just accepting the nominations presented by the JBC and they are barking on the wrong tree, the lawmakers should criticized the JBC first before blaming the President for his appointment.
