R. Tiglao Revealed the Real Name of Ninoy Aquino as "Benigno Simeon Aquino Aquino"

One of the country's most prominent political analyst and journalist, Rigoberto D. Tiglao or Bobi Tiglao revealed one of the most interesting name in Philippine history, exposing the real name of Ninoy Aquino as "Benigno Simeon Aquino Aquino."

According to the information gathered by R. Tiglao which is based on facts and government documents proving that the late Ninoy Aquino was not using his real maiden name during his prime which is a related family member from Aquino clan.

In the expose presented by Tiglao, while it is widely known that Ninoy Aquino is known as "Benigno S. Aquino, Jr." but based on official name given by the Filipino convention, he should be named as "Benigno Simeon Aquino Aquino.

Ninoy's middle name, or mother's name, was also "Aquino" as his mother was Aurora L. Aquino, a third cousing of his father Benigno Simeon (Igno) Quiambao Aquino. The "S" was Ninoy's second given name, Simeon. The father of Ninoy Aquino had married into two rich clans, in 1916, he had married Maria Urquico, the youngest daughter of a prosperous rice merchant in Tarlac.

Two years after Maria died in 1928, Igno Aquino married Ninoy's mother Aurora, 16 years younger, and the youngest daughter of the related hacendero clan, the Aquino's of Concepcion, Tarlac.

The father of Ninoy Aquino, Igno Aquino was a professional politician who rose to become a senator during the pre-war Commenwealth Government of the Philippines, and then especially since he was a high official of the pro-Japanese Kalibapi, Speaker of the Japan's puppet government's National Assembly during World War 2. Igno Aquino was reportedly a prominent member of the pro-Japanese "Makapili" group.

The late Ninoy Aquino followed his father Igno Aquino's footsteps, when as politician, hw would marry Corazon Coquangco, a scion of another landlord class ascendant at the time. Both would be classic cases, as political scientists would put it, of a country's political class-the unique creation of an electoral democracy-linking up with the economic elite to create an oligarchic clan.

Ninoy Aquino's son "Noynoy" followed his father's practice and officially used Benigno S. Aquino III. Although Philippine convention would have him named Benigno Simeon Coquangco Aquino, since his mother was Corazon Sumulong Coquangco, scion of two powerful politico-economic clans. Technically Noynoy cannot be "3rd" as his father's name was different, Benigno Simeon Aquino Aquino, while his grandfather's was Benigno Simeon Quiambao Aquino.
