PNP Receives P1.6-Billion Worth of Equipment from the Duterte Administration (Photos)

The Philippine National Police (PNP) received their newest assets as part of the Duterte administration's modernization program of the PNP wherein they were provided with modern guns and high-value equipment to augment PNP's capabilities in fighting illegal drugs and other crimes.


According to the PNP, the newly procured equipment for the PNP includes the following units:



387 Units Patrol Jeep (4x2) Single Cap
176 Units LTV Unmarked
59 Units LTV Marked
41 Units Brand New Vans
138 Units Rubber Boats
313 Units Basic Assault Rifle
320 Units 5.56mm Light Machine Gun
231 Units 7.63mm Light Machine Gun
160 Units Base Radio
6,440 Units Undershirt Vest
3,666 Units 5.56mm NATO Magazine
48 Units Explosive Detection Dog

The Duterte administration fulfilled its promised of doing its best to modernize the PNP as they purchased P1.618 billion worth of new equipment, including patrol jeeps, light transport vehicles, vans, long firearms and explosive detection dogs. 

The more than 11,000 news items were presented before the media on Thursday in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.

Deputy Director General Archie Francisco Gamboa, chairman of the National Headquarters Bids and Awards Committee, led the presentation of the 11,979 units of new equipment amounting to P1.618 billion to PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde.
