Supporters of controversial Vice President Leni Robredo launched their latest group, the "Bantay Nakaw" Coalition, the group that appeals to the Supreme Court to respect the 25% voting threshold but instead of getting support from netizens, they were lambasted on social media.
Netizens took to social media to criticized the fomration of Bantay Nakaw Coalition, the latest group to ask the PET to apply the 25-percent instead of the 50-percent threshold in the ongoing vote recount for the Vice Presidential race.
Veteran La Salle Professor Antonio Contreras lambasted the new group as he was quoted as saying "Kahit talaga sa pag-imbento ng slogan ay sablay ang Leni Robredo. "Bantay Nakaw" nga naman kasi binabantayan nila ang mga nakaw niyang boto" Prof. Contreras stated.
Radio host Mark Lopez on his part questioned the name of the group and asked why they called themselves as "Bantay Nakaw Coalition," when their patron is allegedly the one who stole the election.

The Bantay Nakaw Coalition is the latest formation to ask the PET to apply the 25-percent instead of the 50-percent threshold in the ongoing vote recount, following Camarines Sur voters, law students and other pro-Robredo groups.
"Bilang mga miyembro ng Kataas-taasang Hukuman, kayo'y inatasan ng batas na protektahan ang karapatan ng bawat Pilipino, maging anuman ang estado nito sa buhay at sa lipunan," Bantay Nakaw said in its letter to the PET.
"Tiwala kami na tutupad ang PET sa inyong tungkulin sa ilalim ng Saligang Batas at hahayaang umiral ang patakaran sa 25-percent threshold," it added.
VP Leni Robredo is on appeal after the PET denied her first motion for the application of the 25-percent threshold. Discrediting her appeal, Marcos has said Robredo's legal basis for asking for such a threshold was "misleading."
