The tough-talking President of the Philippines, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte directs all government offices to process permits in just three (3) working days or face administrative sanctions or even termination from service.
Pres. Rody Duterte's directive was revealed by Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol who noted that the directives of the President is his way of fighting red tape in government.
The directive was given by the President according to Piñol after he signed into law the Ease of Doing Business in the Philippine Act in ceremonies attended by leaders of Congress in Malacañang.
Pres. Duterte was quoted as saying "Three days for simple transactions, seven days for complex documents and 20 days for those that need technical review," Pres. Duterte said as he vowed to fight red tape and corruption in government.

Government officials are now directed to process simple transactions like business permits in 3 working days or face administrative sanctions or even termination from service.
President Rody Duterte issued the new directive yesterday after he signed into law the Ease of Doing Business in the Philippined Act in ceremonies attended by leaders of Congress in Malacañang yesterday.
“Three days for simple transactions, seven days for complex documents and 20 days for those that need technical review,” Pres. Duterte said as he vowed to fight red tape and corruption in government.
The 3-Day processing period for government transactions is a policy which Pres. Duterte imposed when he was Mayor of Davao City.
He set a number of hours documents are processed in each office and imposed strict administrative sanctions on those who failed to comply with the directive.
During yesterday’s signing ceremonies, the President also said that the number of signatories in government transaction documents should not be more than three.
The new law is expected to reduce corruption in government while fasttracking the delivery of services.
