Veteran journalist, former correspondent of CNN and the current CEO of Rappler, Maria Ressa made headlines on social media anew after she was burned down by an ordinary netizens on Twitter when she cited a Wikipedia article about the list of fake news site in the Philippines.
Maria Ressa tweeted that "Wikipedia Releases List of Philippine Fake News Sites" and added a link of an article from FHM Philippines.
A concerned netizen responded to Maria Ressa as he burned the veteran journalist by saying that Maria Ressa should realize that Wikipedia does not "release" information but merely relies on volunteers.
The Twitter user was identified as Ronn Zantua with the handle @PulbuRonn. The conversation between Ressa and Zantua was then shared by Sass Rogando Sasot on Facebook.
Ron Zantua tweeted the following:
You do realize that Wikipedia does not "release" information but merely relies on volunteers to pose those right? And you do realize that writers worth their salt don't use Wikipedia even as part of their sources, right? This is what happens when you're desperate for validation.
Some netizens could not control their emotions on the way Maria Ressa was burned the netizen as they posted also their reactions on the said issue.

Mir Clem: I think she's one of those editors and CONTRIBUTORS of such list... Hopefully someone could edit again and ADD RAPPLER AS ONE OF THOSE FAKE SOCIAL MEDIA... Because they can't define themselves if they are BLOGGERS or SOCIAL MEDIA or MAINSTREAM MEDIA.
