The leader of the ruling PDP-Laban party, Pres. Rody Duterte wanted more women to dominate the Philippine Senate as reports surfaced taht he will be fielding his 7 female politikos who will run for a Senate seat.
The tough-talking President of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Rody Duterte had his own senatorial bets for the upcoming 2019 senatorial elections which is not similar to the list initially released by Sen. Pimentel and House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
According to some sources from The Palace, Pres. Rody Duterte wants to see more female lawmakers rubbing elbows with veteran lawmakers in the Upper House of Congress. Among the feamle politikos that Pres. Duterte wants to run for senator under PDP-Laban are reelectionist Senators Cynthia Villar, Nancy Binay and Grace Poe.
Pres. Duterte reportedly said to be keen on endorsing Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano, who wants to return to the Philippine Senate after years of absence from the Upper House.
Some political experts believed that an endorsement from the President will be a big boost to any senatorial bets.
Aside from Villar, Binay, Poe and Cayetano as part of the seven (7) female candidates, Pres. Duterte also revealed that he will endorse Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte in case she decides to run for senator. Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos was also eyed by Pres. Duterte to join the Magnificent.
There are talks also that Pres. Duterte has been convincing former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to run for senator.
There is no final decision yet about the complete line-up of the ruling PDP-Laban Party against The Resistance of LP and other groups who were critical of the President, but the senatorial bet of each team were indeed waiting for the other team to declare their final line-up.
