Gen. Ronald Dela Rosa Slams Rep. Gary Alejano for Criticizing "Oplan Tokhang" after the lawmaker said that he observed that drug raids mostly happened at dawn and suggested that this was because it allegedly helped police officers to "conceal their unlawful activities."
Gen. Bato Dela Rosa made a remarked against the PNP by saying "Hindi ka pulis," referring to the criticisms he received from Rep. Alejano.
Magdalo Rep. Alejano also raised the possibility that officers might be using .38-caliber revolvers to plant evidence at crime scenes.
The PNP Chief responded by saying "Hindi kasi niya alam 'yan kasi Navy siya, hindi siya pulis. Hindi niya alam na 'yung transaksyon sa droga ay nangyayari sa gabi at sa madilim na lugar," dela Rosa said.
Gen. Bato Slams Rep. Alejano:
"Congressman Alejano, I am very sorry to tell you na hindi mo alam 'yung pattern dahil you are a Navy officer, hindi ka pulis."
Rough Translation: (He doesn't know the pattern because he is part of the Navy and is not a police officer. He doesn't know that drug transactions happen at night and in dark places. Congressman Alejano, I am very sorry to tell you that you don't know the pattern because you are a Navy officer and not a policeman.)
Gen. dela Rosa also responded to Alejano's observations linking .38-caliber guns to the congressman's suggestions of planted evidence. The PNP Chief explained that "if you are a criminal, do you want to use gun with a license and serial number that can be traced back to you or any other person who did the crime? So you'll use an unlicensed firearm and a .38-caliber gun is the easiest to buy in the underground market.
Watch Gen. Bato's Explanation on Why Unlicensed Firearm Were Used by Suspects:
The PNP Chief also challenged Rep. Gary Alejano to conduct an investigation and malaman nila ang totoo. Wala kaming tinatago. You can open our hearts," he said.
