DDS Blogger and a well-known supporter of Pres. Rody Duterte, MJ Quiambao Reyes burns Rappler CEO Maria Ressa anew on social media after her controversial tweet that in more than 30 years as a journalist, she never joined the protest until Pres. Duterte won as the country's chief executive.
Due to the statement released by Maria Ressa about her protest to promote the freedom of the press, MJ Reyes responded by saying that "True. You didn't protest when 1 activist/wk & 23 journos in 40 wks were killed in BS Aquino's term. Neither did you protest when Phils. was among 10 deadliest countries for journos in 2015. Why protest now?" Reyes stated.
On Facebook MJ Reyes also added that "Walang protesta noon habang namamatay ang ibang journalists, basta ba buhay pa naman at may kumikitang kabuhayan. Ngangawa lang pag sariling agenda na ang tinamaan ng sarili nilang kagagawan."
Maria Ressa responded to MJ Reyes by explaining her side of the story. According to Maria Ressa, obviously Reyes' reading is limited to her cognitive bias. The basic assumption - and question - are flawed according to Ressa.
Ressa explained further that journalists don't protest, but they report, according to Ressa, it's clear what's different now and noted that it's also clear why Reyess choose not to see that.
MJ Reyes responded by saying that "And yes, you may be right on my cognitive bias--but so are you. The difference is, I do not claim to be a journalist. You do. Moreso, I do not report or exaggerate numbers (i.e. kill list). Neither do I make money from writing or invite aliens to invest," Reyes said burning down Maria Ressa.
