Does American Government Knows Something About Trillanes? Pres. Trump Calls Trillanes a "Little Narco"
The alleged controversial statement of US President Donald Trump to Philippine Senator Antonio Trillanes calling the later as "little narco" made headlines not only in Philippine social media media but also in the mainstream media.
Most netizens asked whether the American government knows something about the fiercest critic of Pres. Rody Duterte, Sen. Trillanes on his alleged involvement with narcotics due to the statement released by Pres. Trump.
According to an article posted by Philippine Star Ngayon columnist Al G. Geroche, which was deleted later, US Pres. Donald Trump called Sen. Trillanes a 'lil narco' during an interview with the press before the American leader boarded in Air Force 1.
PhilStar reported that an unknown reporter asked Pres. Trump about his thoughts on the visit of the Filipino senator in the US and according to report, this is what the American leader said:
“The little Narco met with Sen. Marco.”
US Pres. Trump was also asked by the reporter if Senator Trillanes convinced him to not attend the East Asean Summit on November 14 in the Philippines.
“Senator who? Like I said senator who? The lil’ narco who met Marco? How’d he get a visa? isn’t he wanted, doesn’t he have an arrest warrant or something?” Trump reportedly said.
“I’m going to Manila to meet the main guy. A leaders’ leader, man’s man Rody, we talk from time to time, he’s the head of ASEAN right now and when you do deal, you deal with the boss”. he added.’
Sen. Antonio Trillanes visited the United States and had a confirmed meeting with Sen. Marco Rubio on October 18, 2017, to talk about 'corruption, human rights and narcotics crisis."
Pres. Trump and Pres. Duterte was scheduled to meet on November as part of the 50th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) that would be held in Manila.
President Rodrigo Duterte praised President Trump several times in his speeches saying that they are ‘alike’.
“We both make curses. Even with trivial matters we curse.” Duterte said in one of his speeches.
