VP Robredo's Supporters Caught on Camera Preparing Gifts for VP Robredo But Justify the Move (Viral Video)
Some of supporters of Vice President Leni Robredo was caught in the act organizing an event wherein the VP was reportedly a guest of honor and she was apparently set to receive something.
The Filipino organizers prepared a gift for VP Leni Robredo but when someone told them that it is illegal for the VP to receive a gift, the group tried to defend the Vice President and defended their actions.
Based on the viral video posted by MindaNation, the Vice President was set to receive something from people being interviewed on the video. The people involved did not discuss about the gift to be given to the Vice President.
If the Vice President received something from the Filipino community, she could have violated Republic Act 6713.
According to RA 6713 "Public officials and employees shall not solicit or accept, directly or indirectly, any gift, gratuity, favor, entertainment, loan or anything of monetary value from any person in the course of their official duties or in connection with operation being regulated by, or any transaction which may be affected, by the functions of their office."
