Aside from Casamora Maute other suspected members of the Maute group were apprehended such as his son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and Ominta Romato Maute alias Farhana, believed to be Casamora's wife.
The suspects were onboard a black Toyota Grandia van, on their way to Davao City for medication. During the apprehension, Casamora Maute concealed his identity by wearing a face (surgical) mask and sporting a clean cut image.
Despite the disguise made Casamora, his group was hold by authorities, while the driver of the van who was identified as Esmael Aljon Salazar was later released due to lack of evidence.
