Netizen Lauded 40IB Soldiers Who Thwarted Around 80 ISIS Troops in Mamasapano

A concerned netizen shared a very interesting story of bravery of the members of the 40th Infantry Batallion who successfully thwarted around 80 ISIS local affiliates in attacking Tukanalipao, Mamasapano in Maguindanao last June 4, 2017.

According to Eliseo Mercado who shared the story of his good friend from Sapakan - Mayor Zam, he was grateful with the bravery of the government forces who defended Tukanalipao which the ISIS aims to turned into another Marawi.

The concerned netizen identified Corporal Samsudin Mohammad, a Maguindanaon Muslim Filipino soldier who took the stand by shouting Allahu Akbar to thwart the enemy attack and burst of gunfires on the advancing enenmies with his armalite rifle and died a heroic death.

The attack in Mamasapano started at around 4AM on June 4, when the platoon base of 40IB at Linantangan, Tukanalipao, Mamasapano was attacked by ISIS affiliated locals. The detachment is located along the Midsayap Makar Highway.

Here's the Complete Statement of Eliseo Mercado:

Post by my good friend from Sapakan - Mayor Zam...

On June 4, Tukanalipao, Mamasapano, almost turned into another Marawi. Thanks to the valiant defense 40IB soldiers who successfully thwarted around 80 ISIS led local affiliates.

Thanks to Cpl Samsudin Mohammad, a Maguindanaon, a Muslim Filipino soldier who took the stand, shouting Allahu Akbar to thwart the enemy attack and burst of gunfires on the advancing enemies with his armalite rifle. And he died a heroic death, fulfilling rhe wishes of Allah that those who fight in the cause of Allah, killing and be killed, goto paradise.

It was around 4am when the platoon base of 40IB at Linantangan was attacked by ISIS affiliated locals. The army detachment is located along the Midsayap_Makar Highway.

Overrunning the camp into broad daylight and plant the IS flag along the highway in Mamasapano would be enough propaganda feat for the locals led by an Indonesian team leader, to catch the attention of their superiors in Arabia.

This early dawn attack is different from previous attacks on military detachments in Maguindanao which were normally done early or late evening. The intention seemingly for the attack on the Linantangan platoon base is to set into broad daylight a planted flag on another Muslim town and make a statement that IS have expanded its hold on Mindanao.

Linantangan is almost like Tukanalipao and being anle to occupy the populated areas from Libutan up to Tukanalipao with Lonantangan as its center will make the whole scenario a good public recall with SAF44 fiasco in Mamasapano as a backdrop.

A whole day or maybe 3 days or even weeks in furlough in Mamasapano is a good stage show for an IS presence in Mindanao.

For terrorists, presence is important as even a speck of media light focused on them having occupied or invaded or overrun a populated area or town is good exposure to send the message that they are existing as what they want to call themselves, an Islamic State.

The locals who hoped for a quick victory in Tukanalipao utterly failed, even as they have encircled the platoon camp. A whole night if artillery barrage did the job to be able to give the army fighters a boost to their valiant defense of the Mamaspano populace that were to serve as prop to their warped objective.

They are now holed up somewhere in the Pusaw area of Mamasapano. And the 40IB is still hunting them. Easily, such a sinister group of terrorists would disperse like rats. And the war against terrorism would still have to continue. And an army unit like 40IB cpuld not rest yet confined to the barracks, and maybe, more heroic fighters like this soldier named Muhammad would still be needed by out country hoping to get rid of the virus of Islamist Extremism.

NEVER AGAIN, MAMASAPANO. NEVER AGAIN MARAWI. ALLAHU AKBAR!
