PNP Confirms 37 Dead Bodies Found Inside Resorts World Manila

The Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed through Southern Police District Chief Tomas Apolinario confirmed that a total of 36 dead bodies were found inside the popular Resorts World Manila Hotel. Including the gunman, the PNP confirmed that 37 were the total fatalities in the Resort World incident.

Initial investigation of the PNP reported that the cause of death inside Resorts World is suffocation due to the fire set by the lone gunman inside the Casino during the attack.

PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa confirmed earlier that the lone gunman in Resorts World incident burned himself to death.

Most of the dead bodies were found in the second floor of Resorts World, most of which were women. The gunman entered through the second floor building and shot LCD screens, he also sets fire the gambling tables and stole millions of chips.

Most of the victims were likely to have succumbed to suffocation from the fire set by the gunman who doused gaming table with gasoline and set these on fire.


The gunman was seen wearing a hood and a black jacket, he opened fire at TV monitors and the door of a storeroom where chips were stored but did not aim at people. He allegedly took P113 million worth of casino chips but let go of the bag where he had placed these.

Most of the victims were discovered after the smoke and dust had settled, the gunman was found dead in an upper floor room where PNP chief Dela Rosa said he had killed himself by wrapping himself in a blanket, dousing himself with gasoline and setting himself alight.
