Kapamilya star Meg Imperial made history in one of the country’s most popular game show, ABS-CBN’s “Minute to Win It: Last Man Standing” as she won the much-coveted P1 million cash prize.

The 23-year-old Meg Imperial won the grand prize of the said game show after she completed the challenge of landing three pieces of folded paper from a makeshift slingshot on top of table 12 feet away.

According to the “Moon of Desire” lead star, she did not expect to win the competition because she was there not to win but to enjoy the show.

Meg Imperial was quoted as saying “Hindi ko akalain na mananalo po ako ng one million dahil nandito lang naman ako para enjoyin itong larong ito,” Imperial said and she added further that “Tapos ganito kaya mas thankful talaga ako,” she said.

The victory of Meg Imperial was celebrated on Friday along with six other celebrity contestants. They were tasked to stack four plastic cups with index cards nestled in between each.

All contestants had to pull the index cards and have the cups pile on top of each other and the last contestant to do so would be eliminated.

During the next round of the competition, Imperial staved off an early exit as she was able to successfully hooked five pieces of penne noodles using an uncooked spaghetti strand.

Meg Imperial earned a spot in the quarterfinals and moved on to the semifinals after completing the challenge of grabbing a piece of candy with their mouth covered with surgical mask, and then use the mask as a slingshot to launch the candy into a stack of carton rolls.

The actress was given the opportunity to win the P1 million cash when she eliminated the controversial Indie actor Kiko Matos by finishing two out of the three challenges given with the best time.

For the very first time in the history of the game show, Meg Imperial became the first winner of the grand prize.
